Printing using the HP ePrint App (Apple & Android)

This instructional guide educates about using HP ePrint for printing photos and documents from your handheld smartphones or from tablets that are powered by Android and/or Apple iOS Operating systems. The Apple products include iPhone, iPad and ipod touch.

HP ePrint is a mobile application which enables wireless printing from a remote corner of the world or from the comfy confines of your room with the provision of a compatible and cloud-connected Printer. This cloud based service app allows you to communicate and exchange printing data with your web-enabled Printer connected to the Internet no matter where you are.

Step 1 : Review the minimum requirements

The HP ePrint app requires the following as minimum requirements on your HP printer and mobile device for the app to work and be functional.

  • The Smartphone or tablet should be powered by a minimum of Android OS 4.0 (JellyBean) or upward versions or Apple iOS 7 or later versions of Apple iPad , iPhone or iPod devices.
  • A Wireless Printer Product Series from HP. The Wireless Signal on the HP Printer must be ON and your printer and mobile device need to be connected to the same wireless network.

Step 2 : HP ePrint app Installation

  • Touch Activate or Skip on the HP ePrint Welcome screen. Skip means you are bypassing the activation. Choose your usage data collection options and press Done.
  • Fill in your e mail address in the Activate using your E mail box and then press Activate. As a next step to the activation process, the HP ePrint services e mails you an activation code.
  • Log into your E mail and find the Activation code which is a Personal Identification Code (PIN) sent by HP ePrint
  • Get back to HP ePrint app and enter the PIN code into your app and then press Activate. Alternatively, Press Settings , enter the code and then press Activate.
  • Choose your usage data collection options and press Done. The HP ePrint automatically scans and detects printers in the vicinity.
  • Pick your Printer from the list.

  • Browse the file from your file folder and then select the document you would like to print. This flips open the Print Preview
  • Press Edit on the Print Preview Screen and use the services of the app editing tools to make changes to the file or print settings.
  • Press Done to return to the previous Print Preview Screen and then finally tap Print.

Photo Printing :

Print a Photostored on your Android Smartphone or tablet using HP ePrint app.

  • Tap open the HP ePrint app and then tapPhotos or Recent Photos whichever is shown.
  • Browse the photos from your Gallery and then select the photo you would like to print and then tap Preview. A Print Preview Screen springs open.
  • Press Edit on the Print Preview Screen and use the services of the app editing tools to make changes to the photo or print settings.
  • Press Done to return to the previous Print Preview Screen and then finally tap Print.

E-Mail Printing :

Log in to your e mail account inside the HP ePrint app and then find the e mail you want to print.

  • Tap open the HP ePrint app and then touch on Email.
  • Touch open the E mail service and then allow the app to verify your account credentials by entering your Username and Password to have a secure access to the account.
  • Search for the e mail that you would like to print. Locate it and then touch Print on E mail Body based on the mobile device. Clicking on it opens up a Print Preview Screen.
  • Press Edit on the Print Preview Screen and use the services of the app editing tools to make changes to the mail or print settings.

Webpage Printing :

On the home screen of the HP ePrint app, open the desired Webpage on a web browser on your Android or iOS device.

  • Tap open the HP ePrint app and then touch on Web.
  • The App may show Print or Preview as options. Tap on them to show a Print Preview Screen.
  • Press Edit on the Print Preview Screen and use the services of the app editing tools to make changes to the webpage or print settings.
  • Press Done to return to the previous Print Preview Screen and then finally tap Print.

Printing from a Cloud Account :

  • On the home screen of the HP ePrint app, log into your desired cloud account and then pick a stored document or photo or file to print.
  • Tap open the HP ePrint app and then touch on Cloud.
  • Select your desired Cloud Service Account or add a new cloud account.
  • Choose a document or file or photo in its storage space which opens up a Print Preview Screen.

Step 2 : HP Print for Chrome need to be installed

  • Double click and open the Chrome Browser and then head to HP Print for Chrome.
  • Click on the blue bar titled ‘Add to Chrome’. You will receive a confirmation message.
  • Succeeding the confirmation message is an Add ‘HP Print for Chrome’ Click Add App to confirm the installation which is indicated by a green ribbon that runs across the app icon. 

Step 3 : Printing using the app ‘HP Print for Chrome’

Print a multitude of documents, webpages, photos and e mails from various apps including Google Docs, Gallery or Cloud Drives on the Chrome Browser using the newly installed HP Print for Chrome app.

  • Open the Chrome Browser and then open a document or photo or image or e mail that you would like to print.
  • Click the Menu icon on the chrome browser at the top right corner and then Choose Print from the drop down menu that rolls down.
  • You have to click on the Change button situated next to Destination. There is a list called Local Destinations List in which your printer can be chosen. The chosen printer is now set as the Default Printer in Chrome Browser.
  • If necessary, adjust the print settings and then click on Print
